NOTE: I’ve had a number of people who said they can’t read the whole post. That’s because you have to click the heading on the post, i.e. Day Six. WARNING: No good pictures. No pictures at ALL. Oh god, I’m already one of those people who write boring things about their meals and dental appointments. This is our second Tuesday in Denver. Yesterday we thought was Tuesday so we can this Tuesday for free. We took a very expensive taxi ride into Denver and although I’m glad we did it, I was singularly unimpressed with downtown Denver. Maybe it’s me. Okay, it is me! But the place is teeming with Starbucks (seems to be a theme), white homeless kids with tats over every inch their exposed flesh (where do they get the $$??) and the typical crappy discount stores. In fairness to Denver, we were only in one part of town. It did have a fantastic dog store where we found the exact same rabbit we lost in San Francisco! (I’m channeling Parker Posey in “Best in Show”). The other truth is that since we had the mutts so we couldn’t go to the museum or do anything that might have been interesting. Curiously, I haven’t seen anybody smoking weed. Even in the ride into town, we only passed one pot store. My impression, derived from our reliable mainstream media is that weed is as commonplace as Starbucks. Not by a long shot. I’m not exaggerating when I say we have seen maybe 50 humans in the last five days and 100 Starbucks. As a non-coffee drinker it’s hard to wrap my head around it.
