EAT PASTA! THE SURPRISING LONGEVITY OF ITALIANS

June 18, 2015 by Jim

To our surprise, it turns out that despite the fact that every Italian we see is smoking like chimneys, eating piles of pasta and bread and taking 3 hour siestas every day, the average life expectancy of an Italian is 83 years, higher than that of the U.S. or England. So I am stuffing as much pasta and bread and, of course, gelato as I can humanly consume!

So…eat, rest…enjoy…and live long!

Love,
Jim

When we arrived yesterday on my birthday, there was Prosecco and chocolates waiting for me! Just what I needed!

Jim on the patio. Our room is above, with the flowers. The manager, who has fallen hard for the pooches, calls them her little "piccolinos." That's because she doesn't live with them. They've been good, all things considered. But they've had - or should I say we've had, moments when we wanted to strangle the little piccolinos! We're able to take them everywhere in Italy, markets, restaurants, etc. They're being ruined for our return to States.
